How CNC Vertical Machining Works

CNC Vertical Machining works by using a computer-controlled vertical spindle that rotates cutting tools to precisely remove material from a workpiece fixed on a flat table. The machine follows programmed G-code instructions to move the tool along the X, Y, and Z axes, allowing it to create complex shapes and accurate features. As the spindle moves up and down and the table shifts the material in different directions, the cutting tools shape the part with high speed, consistency, and precision—making it ideal for automotive, aerospace, mold-making, and general manufacturing.

Advantages of CNC Vertical Machining

01

Precision and Accuracy

Wire EDM is renowned for its ability to produce highly accurate and precise cuts. It can achieve tolerances as tight as 0.005 mm and surface finishes up to 0.8 μm, making it ideal for applications requiring intricate details and high dimensional accuracy.

02

Complex Geometries

Wire EDM can cut complex contours, slots, holes, and 3D profiles that would be challenging or impossible to achieve with conventional machining methods. This capability is particularly valuable in industries such as aerospace, medical device manufacturing, and tool and die making.

03

Material Versatility

Wire EDM can machine a wide range of electrically conductive materials, including hardened steels, carbides, titanium, and superalloys. This versatility makes it suitable for applications involving hard or exotic materials that are difficult to machine using traditional methods.

04

No Mechanical Stress

Since Wire EDM is a non-contact machining process, it does not induce mechanical stress on the workpiece. This makes it ideal for delicate parts and materials that could be damaged by conventional machining forces.

05

Excellent Surface Finish

Wire EDM produces excellent surface finishes without the need for secondary finishing operations. The process leaves no burrs and creates smooth surfaces ready for assembly or further processing.

06

Cost Effective

For complex parts and hard materials, Wire EDM can be more cost-effective than traditional machining methods. It reduces tool wear costs and minimizes material waste through precise cutting.
